Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using all welding techniques, to produce high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about metalwork and fabrication to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ensuring precision and quality standards are met
Fabricate components according to technical drawings and specifications
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently
Assist with assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures
Measure and mark materials accurately using basic math skills
Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and project requirements

Requirements

Proven experience in MIG welding
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and mechanical assembly
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Prior experience in working with sheet metal, fabrication, or similar roles is desirable
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
