Job Purpose

The New Business Sales Executive is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities for Sol Distribution. The primary objective of the role is to grow the customer base by winning new accounts, developing relationships with decision-makers, and converting sales opportunities into long-term customers.

This is a target-driven role that rewards ambition, resilience, and a proactive approach to sales.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and contact prospective customers through outbound telephone sales and business development activities.
Generate new business opportunities across Sol Distribution's target markets.
Build relationships with key decision-makers and purchasing contacts.
Qualify leads and convert opportunities into active trading accounts.
Promote Sol Distribution's products, services, and value proposition.
Prepare quotations and proactively follow up to secure orders.
Negotiate pricing within agreed company guidelines.
Consistently achieve and exceed new business sales targets.
Maintain an accurate pipeline of opportunities using the company's CRM system.
Record all customer interactions and sales activity.
Work closely with internal departments to ensure a smooth customer onboarding experience.
Develop long-term relationships that encourage repeat business and account growth.
Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and new product launches.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

New customer accounts opened.
New business sales revenue.
Gross profit generated.
Number of outbound calls and prospecting activities.
Quote-to-order conversion rate.
Customer retention after onboarding.
CRM accuracy and pipeline management.

Salary & Commission

Competitive basic salary.
10% commission on the gross profit generated from all new business sales, subject to the company's commission policy and payment terms.
Commission is uncapped, providing excellent earning potential for high performers.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Previous experience in telesales, business development, or new business sales.
Proven ability to generate and win new customers.
Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Desirable

Experience within electrical wholesale, renewable energy, lighting, or distribution.
Knowledge of B2B sales processes.
Experience working to sales targets and KPIs.
