About The Role:

Hours per week:

Monday - Thursday
06:30-15:00 (0.5 unpaid break)

Friday
06:30-14:00 (0.5 unpaid break)

Job Purpose:

To carry out painting and maintenance of building fabrics across the food manufacturing site, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires working at height and in sensitive production areas, maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform internal and external painting of building fabrics including walls, ceilings, doors, and structural elements.

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as required.

Use appropriate materials and techniques suitable for food-safe environments.

Operate access equipment safely and efficiently (IPAF certification required).

Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain site standards.

Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption.

Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Adhere to site hygiene, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements:

Time-served painter with proven experience in industrial or commercial environments.

IPAF certification – essential for working at height.

Knowledge of painting systems suitable for food-safe environments.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong awareness of health and safety practices.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating (desirable).

Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.

Experience working in occupied properties and managing customer expectations.

Familiarity with COSHH and safe handling of materials.

Desirable:

Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated environments.

Basic understanding of other building maintenance tasks (e.g., plastering, minor repairs).
