As our Export Customer Support Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in managing relationships with export customers, agents and distributors, ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered efficiently. Working closely with production, logistics and commercial teams, you’ll coordinate export documentation, maintain compliance, and provide outstanding customer service every step of the way. The Role
The purpose of this role is to support the effective day-to-day management of the divisions’ export customers, agents and distributors, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and smooth operational delivery. You will be responsible for accurate order processing, clear communication, and coordinating closely with production and logistics to ensure customer requirements are met on time and in full.
You will also play a key role in managing export processes and documentation, ensuring all orders are handled compliantly and efficiently. Alongside delivering excellent customer support, you will help maintain strong relationships and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of export accounts.
Core Responsibilities
· Act as the primary contact for the network of Export customers, agents and distributors, ensuring a responsive, accurate and high-quality service at all times.
· Build strong relationships and promote the full product range, including new developments and sustainability initiatives
· Manage all customer orders from receipt through to delivery, ensuring accuracy, timely processing and clear communication throughout
· Provide up-to-date and reliable information on order status, production schedules and stock availability, working closely with production to manage expectations
· Take ownership of MTO and bespoke orders, ensuring effective coordination across internal teams and clear communication with customers
· Proactively manage stock planning and availability for export accounts to ensure continuity of supply
· Export & Compliance Responsibilities
· Prepare and manage all export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists and any country-specific requirements
· Ensure all export activity is compliant with customs regulations, shipping requirements and agreed Incoterms
· Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics providers to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues or delays
· Maintain accurate records and ensure a high level of attention to detail across all export documentation and processes
· Team & Operational Responsibilities
· Support wider Customer Support team activity, including shared inbox management, ensuring all enquiries, orders and sampling requests are handled efficiently
· Maintain working knowledge of UK customer activity to support team cover during periods of absence or peak workload
· Contribute to maintaining consistent service levels across both UK and export accounts
· Attend trade events and support customer visits when required, with occasional travel as part of the role
· Commercial Awareness & Development
· Identify opportunities to grow existing export accounts and support the development of new business through research and customer engagement
· Continuously develop knowledge of customers, markets and competitors to support effective account management

Essential skills and Knowledge
· Strong understanding of customers, agents, distributors and their role within the wider market, including awareness of competitor activity
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to respond clearly and professionally across telephone, email and face-to-face interactions
· Ability to confidently present products and communicate the value and story behind the brand
· Proven experience in export processes, including preparation of documentation (e.g. commercial invoices, packing lists) and an understanding of customs requirements and Incoterms (this is key and should be explicit)
· High level of organisation with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling orders, data and export documentation
· Ability to work under pressure, managing competing demands while maintaining a high standard of customer service
· Proactive and solution-focused, with the confidence to identify issues and take ownership to resolve them
· Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with colleagues across departments such as Production, Design and Marketing
· Willingness to support team priorities and contribute to consistent service delivery across both UK and export activity
· Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to learn, actively building knowledge of products, customers and processes
· IT literate, with experience of order processing systems and Microsoft Office tools (or similar). Experience of SAP also advantageous.
· Languages would be an advantage but not essential.
