Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Painter and Decorator to bring vibrant transformations to residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, wallpapers, and decorative finishes that enhance the aesthetic appeal and protect surfaces. Your expertise will help create inviting environments while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your artistic flair and technical skills in a fast-paced construction or renovation setting.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, wallpapers, and decorative coatings with precision and care
Interpret project specifications and work plans to deliver results that meet client expectations
Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively
Communicate clearly with team members and clients to coordinate work schedules and address any surface or material issues
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste responsibly
Conduct quality checks throughout the project to ensure smooth finishes and adherence to safety standards

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting, decorating, or related trades
Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and application methods for various paints and finishes
Valid driver’s license with reliable driving skills for transporting equipment or materials as needed
Excellent communication skills in English to understand instructions clearly and collaborate effectively with team members
Ability to follow safety protocols diligently in a construction environment
Basic understanding of construction drawings or project plans is a plus
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different project requirements
