Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Builder or Handyman with any trade skill to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of building projects, contributing their expertise across multiple trades to ensure high-quality workmanship. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a broad skill set in construction, looking to work on diverse sites and projects. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their career within the building industry.

Responsibilities

Carry out carpentry tasks, including framing, fitting, and finishing work
Undertake roofing repairs and installations with attention to safety and quality standards
Perform construction painting to prepare surfaces and achieve desired finishes
Install and repair plumbing systems as required on-site
Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete pouring
Conduct welding tasks for structural or repair purposes using appropriate techniques
Handle electrical installations or repairs following safety regulations (where qualified)
Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for various building activities
Fabricate custom components or structures as specified in project plans
Maintain a clean, organised work environment and adhere to health and safety protocols at all times

Skills

Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work or related trades
Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, chisels, etc.
Competence in operating power tools safely and effectively
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Good physical fitness to handle manual labour over extended periods
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments
