Are you an experienced leader in case management and governance looking for a strategic role within a dynamic public sector organisation? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Strategic Manager - Case Management and Governance to support the Service Lead in the effective delivery and management of the shared Public Protection Service.

About the Role

As the Strategic Manager - Case Management and Governance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of the Public Protection Service, which encompasses Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Licensing. You will be responsible for:

Leading and managing a team to deliver high-quality regulatory services to the local community
Ensuring effective case management and governance processes are in place
Overseeing the implementation of appropriate controls, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Criminal and Civil Litigation
Working collaboratively with other strategic managers to ensure joined-up service delivery
Providing regular reports and updates to the Service Lead and other key stakeholders

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Criminal Litigator or Barrister with authorisation to conduct reserved activities under the Legal Services Act 2007 (Litigation)
Significant experience in a similar role within a public sector environment
Strong leadership and people management skills
Substantial track record in building and managing effective partnerships
Excellent knowledge of case management principles and governance frameworks
Ability to work collaboratively with other managers and stakeholders
Effective communication and influencing skills
