The role:

As a Healthcare Support Worker within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to patients within our Older People and Stroke Rehabilitation & Assessment services. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will assist registered nurses to ensure patients receive safe, effective and dignified care throughout their hospital journey.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Duration: Permanent

Location: Royal Alexandra Hospital

Hours: 35.5 Hours (Shift Pattern - Monday-Sunday)

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours

Key responsibilities:

Assist patients with personal care, including hygiene, dressing and mobility needs
Support patients with nutritional and fluid intake as required or prescribed
Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse
Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes in line with procedures
Undertake basic clinical tasks such as urinalysis and specimen collection
Maintain accurate patient records, including charts and care documentation
Ensure clinical areas, equipment and supplies are clean, safe and well-maintained

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Good standard of general education
Strong verbal communication skills with a caring and respectful approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
Willingness to learn and develop within a clinical environment
Understanding of basic health and safety principles in a care setting
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision within established procedures
