Administrative Assistant

Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Office Based: Yes

About Us

We are a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. We provide a full range of accountancy, tax and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients and pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional level of service.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly, supportive and professional working environment where no two days are the same.

The Role

The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the practice, providing administrative assistance to the Practice Manager and Client Managers while ensuring clients receive a professional and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and submitting statutory filings, particularly Companies House Confirmation Statements.
Drafting letters, professional correspondence and other accounting-related documentation.
Helping to manage credit control processes, including monitoring outstanding balances and liaising with clients regarding overdue payments.
Providing reception and telephone cover during periods of annual leave and absence.
Supporting the Practice Manager with general administrative duties and office management tasks.
Assisting Client Managers with ad hoc administrative and client-related work.
Helping to maintain and update client records and internal databases.
Helping to manage electronic filing and document management systems.
Undertaking additional administrative duties as required to support the wider team.

Person Specification

Essential

Previous experience in an administrative role.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.

Desirable

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice or other professional services environment.
Knowledge of Companies House processes and statutory filings.
Experience drafting professional client correspondence and documentation.
Experience of credit control and client account administration.
