Full job description

We are looking for a hardworking, proactive and friendly team member to join our busy bistro/café team.

Hospitality experience is preferred, and experience within a bistro, café or restaurant environment would be a huge advantage. A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right person.

This is a hands-on role, and flexibility is essential. You must be willing to assist across all areas of the business including front of house, barista duties, food preparation support, cleaning, and maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the premises.

Previous experience in hospitality, cafés, restaurants or bistros preferred
Positive, friendly and welcoming attitude towards guests and colleagues
Ability to stay calm and organised during busy and stressful periods
Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good common sense and initiative are essential
High standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene
Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed within the business

Appearance & Hygiene Standards

Hygiene is extremely important to us. Successful applicants must:

Keep hair brushed and tied back at all times
Wear the correct uniform and maintain a smart appearance
Remove all jewellery except small ear studs
Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures

Duties Include

Assisting with food and beverage service
Delivering excellent customer service at all times
Supporting food preparation in line with health and safety standards
Preparing teas, coffees and barista-style drinks
Cleaning all areas including kitchen, dining areas, toilets, windows and outdoor spaces
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the day
Following all food safety procedures and hygiene regulations

Working Hours & Flexibility

Flexibility is essential for this role. Applicants must be available to work a mixture of weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and key seasonal/special occasion dates throughout the year.

Due to the nature of hospitality, shifts can vary depending on business demands, and occasional evening shifts will also be required throughout the year for events and special functions.

Successful applicants should be reliable, adaptable and willing to support the business during busy periods and peak trading times.

We’re looking for someone with positive energy, a strong team attitude and a willingness to get stuck in wherever needed.
