Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Clerk to the Community Council to support the administrative functions and daily operations of the local governing body. This vital role involves managing correspondence, maintaining records, organising and taking minutes at Council meetings. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensure the smooth functioning of the council’s activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to community development and public service.

Duties

Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring clear communication channels.
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, notices, and official documents accurately and promptly.
Maintain organized records of council meetings, decisions, budgets, and community projects using digital filing systems.
Assist in scheduling meetings, events, and public consultations while coordinating logistics as needed.
Monitoring and balancing the Council's accounts and preparing records for audit purposes.
Ensuring the Council meet their governance, Health & Safety and policy responsibilities.
Perform general clerical duties including typing reports, filing documents, and managing office supplies to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven office experience with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, data entry applications and financial packages.
Previous administrative experience in a government or community organization is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated clerical experience involving record keeping, data management, and document preparation.
Ability in effective minute taking.

Pay: £13.69-£14.82 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Carmarthen SA33 6BD
