Aims and purpose of the role:
The Skills4Eden Team Lead is responsible for leading, motivating and developing a team that delivers high-quality coaching support to people with learning disabilities and/or neurodiversity. The postholder will ensure people are enabled to develop their skills, strengths and independence through community participation while promoting choice, control and co-production in all aspects of coaching support.
The role combines frontline leadership, operational management, quality assurance and partnership working to ensure safe, effective and compliant service delivery that achieves positive outcomes for people who use 4Eden services.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Staff Development
- Lead, coach and support team members to deliver high-quality, person-led services.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive working culture that reflects organisational values and maintains professional boundaries.
- Ensure staff understand and apply co-production principles, actively involving individuals in decisions about their lives and support.
- Deliver effective induction, supervision, coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Identify training and development needs and support staff to enhance their knowledge, skills and practice.
- Ensure all shifts are adequately staffed with competent and appropriately trained employees, addressing staffing gaps as required.
- Support the digitisation and continuous improvement of service processes, systems and ways of working.
Person-led Coaching and Support
- Ensure individuals receive coaching that promotes independence, choice, dignity and respect.
- Support people to identify and develop their strengths, skills and personal goals.
- Create opportunities for individuals to access recreational, educational, social and community activities.
- Encourage the development of friendships, relationships and wider community connections.
- Promote the use of public transport and other skills that enhance independence and community inclusion.
- Support individuals to manage behaviours positively and proactively using person-centred approaches.
Service Delivery and Quality Assurance
- Ensure person-led support plans are co-produced, developed, implemented, reviewed and followed consistently.
- Monitor the quality and effectiveness of support provided, ensuring positive outcomes for individuals.
- Work alongside the Head of Services to ensure services meet contractual obligations, funding requirements and agreed outcomes.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous quality improvement of opportunities provided to the people who use 4Eden services.
- Support the implementation of action plans arising from audits, inspections, reviews and quality monitoring activities.
Operational Management
- Prepare and manage staff rotas to ensure safe, effective and responsive service delivery.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee medication administration and management, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legislation.
- Coordinate community-based programmes and events, including Saturday Social activities and other group opportunities.
- Drive individuals to appointments, activities and community events using a personal vehicle where required, maintaining appropriate insurance and compliance documentation.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
Safeguarding, Risk Management and Health & Safety
- Promote a culture of positive risk-taking while ensuring robust risk assessments are completed, reviewed and implemented.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are understood and followed by all staff members.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents, accidents and emergencies, taking immediate action where necessary.
- Support teams by responding to incidents and ensure reporting procedures are followed.
- Work alongside Registered Manager and Head of Services to review accidents, incidents and near-misses, identifying trends and implementing preventative measures to improve safety and wellbeing.
- Support compliance with health and safety requirements across all service areas.
Partnership Working
- Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals, families, advocates and carers.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, funding authorities and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with Head of Services regarding support planning, reviews, outcomes and changing individual needs.
- Represent the service professionally in meetings and multi-agency forums when required.
Communication and Compliance
- Ensure all records, documentation and reports are completed accurately and to required standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, individuals receiving coaching and support and external professionals.
- Promote organisational values, standards and expectations across the service.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to audit findings and compliance reviews, supporting the implementation of improvement actions.
Person Specification –
Essential Criteria
- Experience supervising or leading teams
- Understanding of learning disabilities, autism or related services.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, medication administration and health and safety requirements.
- Experience of rota management, record keeping and service coordination.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to promoting independence, inclusion and positive outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance.
Desirable Criteria
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
· Strong understanding of person-led support and co-production principles.
· Experience of service audits, inspections and quality assurance processes.
· Understanding of digital systems and process improvement initiatives.
