Rox Cars – Aldridge, Walsall

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Smart Repair Technician / Car Polisher to join our busy vehicle preparation team.

Rox Cars is a large independent used car dealership with a high volume of vehicles passing through our preparation centre every month. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can help us get vehicles to a high retail standard quickly and efficiently.

The Role

The role will mainly involve cosmetic paint preparation and improvement rather than major bodyshop repairs.

Day-to-day duties will include:

Machine mopping and polishing vehicles to remove scratches, swirl marks and paint imperfections
Touching in stone chips, scratches and minor paint damage
Carrying out small SMART paint repairs
Painting/blending small areas such as bumper corners where required
Wet sanding and polishing where appropriate
Identifying cosmetic defects that can be improved without sending the vehicle for full bodyshop repair
Working closely with our preparation team to get vehicles retail-ready
Maintaining a high standard of finish while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will have previous experience as a:

SMART Repair Technician, Vehicle Polisher, Bodyshop Technician, Paint Technician, Prepper or Automotive Detailer with paint correction experience.

You should be confident using a machine polisher and have a good understanding of automotive paintwork.

Experience carrying out small paint repairs, blending or SMART repairs would be a major advantage.

We are particularly interested in someone who has a good eye for what can be improved through polishing/touch-in work rather than automatically sending every cosmetic defect for paint.

We stock 500-600 used vehicles and have our own dedicated vehicle preparation operation. This is a permanent position within a busy and growing business, with a consistent volume of work rather than the uncertainty that can come with mobile SMART repair work.
