Content & Social Media Marketing Manager — BGS Business Group Services

Location: Peterborough (Office-Based)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £30,000-£35,000

About Trade Mastermind

BGS is looking for a Content & Social Media Marketing Manager to take ownership of content delivery, social media strategy and client campaign performance across our growing portfolio of businesses.

This is a broad, hands-on role combining content strategy, client management, team management, AI-enabled content production and developing paid social capability.

You will be responsible for making sure our clients have consistent, high-quality content going live on time, onboarding new BGS clients into our systems, managing remote content resources and increasingly overseeing the full journey from content → campaign → lead → pipeline → sale.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to schedule social posts. We are looking for someone who understands that content exists to create attention, generate enquiries and ultimately contribute to commercial growth.

The Role

You will work across BGS's own marketing activity and a portfolio of BGS clients, with responsibilities spanning organic content, video production, client onboarding, team management and paid social.

You will initially work closely with the senior marketing team to develop your paid media capability, with training and support provided on Meta campaign planning, setup, optimisation and performance analysis.

As your experience develops, you will take greater ownership of integrated client campaigns and their commercial results.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Strong experience in social media and content marketing.
Ability to develop a content strategy rather than simply create individual posts.
Experience creating content for businesses with a commercial or lead-generation objective.
Understanding of short-form social video and what makes content perform.
Comfortable filming content and working directly with clients.
Strong organisation and project management skills.
Experience managing multiple clients, brands or projects simultaneously.
Confidence managing remote team members or freelancers.
Comfortable using AI tools as part of the content production process.
Strong client-facing communication skills.
Commercial mindset with an interest in lead generation, sales and marketing performance.
Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership.

Desirable

Previous digital marketing agency experience.
Experience with Meta Ads Manager or paid social campaigns.
Experience using AI content and marketing tools.
Experience filming and editing short-form video.
Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere or similar.
Experience working with trade, construction, home improvement or service-based businesses.

The Person We're Looking For

You are someone who can combine creativity with organisation and commercial thinking.

You can come up with a strong content idea, turn it into a clear script, organise a client shoot, brief an editor, manage a VA to get everything scheduled and then look at the results to understand whether it actually generated business.

You are comfortable managing people and processes but are equally willing to get hands-on when something needs creating, filming or fixing.

You do not need to already be an expert paid media buyer, but you should be keen to develop that skill and interested in understanding how content translates into leads, pipeline and sales.

Most importantly, you consistently show ownership and initiative. You actively identify issues, investigate their causes, and take steps to resolve them independently when appropriate.
