Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Pharmacist to join our healthcare team to work across both of our sites in North Yorkshire (Darlington, Saltburn-by-the-Sea) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical care within the community setting, ensuring patients receive accurate medication guidance and support. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient well-being while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of pharmacology, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Duties

Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and organisational standards
Providing personalised medication counselling to patients, including advice on proper usage and potential side effects
Monitoring patient medication regimens and making recommendations for adjustments in collaboration with healthcare providers
Maintaining detailed records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and medication inventories
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment
Educating patients on health management, including lifestyle advice related to medication use
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care outcomes
Managing stock levels and ordering pharmaceuticals as needed to ensure availability

Skills

Proven experience in a pharmacy setting, ideally with ICU experience or specialised knowledge in critical care environments
Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately
In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate medication management
Proficiency in medication administration protocols and safety procedures
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and inventory management
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of current pharmaceutical legislation and ethical standards within community pharmacy practice
