Casual Facility Supervisor (Adventure Playgrounds)
Employer: Awesome
Rate of Pay: £14.80 per hour
Location: One of six Adventure Playgrounds across Islington
Contract Type: Casual Worker Agreement
Hours: There are no guaranteed hours of work. Shifts will be offered according to the needs of the service and accepted on a flexible basis.
Looking for Flexible Weekend and Evening Work?
Are you a local Islington resident looking for additional income? Are you a student seeking flexible work that fits around your studies? Are you retired or looking to supplement an existing part-time role?
If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Awesome is a not-for-profit organisation that manages six of Islington's twelve award-winning adventure playgrounds. Every pound we generate through our venue hire programme is reinvested directly into maintaining and improving these unique spaces for children, young people and families, including some of the borough's most vulnerable residents.
We are currently recruiting a pool of Casual Facility Supervisors to support private hires across our adventure playground sites.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is reliable and organised, and is looking for flexible work primarily during evenings and weekends.
Many of our hires are children's birthday parties, family celebrations and community events. During most bookings, once the hirer has settled into their event, the role largely involves remaining available on-site should assistance be required. This can make the position particularly attractive for students, as there is often time to study, read or undertake personal work from the office while remaining available to support the hire.
We are especially keen to hear from people who live in Islington and can travel easily to one or more of our playground sites.
About the Role
As a Casual Facility Supervisor, you will be the on-site representative of Awesome during venue hires. You will help ensure that hires run smoothly, that facilities are presented to a high standard, and that our buildings and outdoor spaces are respected and cared for.
You will welcome hirers, complete opening and closing checks, remain available throughout the booking period and ensure that facilities are left in an appropriate condition at the end of the hire.
Most shifts take place during evenings and weekends and can occur anytime between 9:00am and 10:00pm.
Main Responsibilities
- Open and prepare playground buildings and facilities for hirers.
- Welcome hirers and provide a brief induction to the site and facilities.
- Complete and record condition checks with hirers at the start of each booking.
- Ensure playground equipment and facilities included in the hire are safe and ready for use.
- Remain on-site throughout the booking period and provide support where required.
- Promote excellent customer service and act as a positive ambassador for Awesome.
- Ensure hirers comply with the terms and conditions of hire.
- Remind hirers of their responsibilities regarding cleaning, tidying and leaving the venue as agreed.
- Conduct end-of-hire inspections with hirers wherever possible.
- Give hirers the opportunity to rectify any cleaning, tidying or damage issues before departure.
- Photograph and report any damage, missing items or cleaning issues to the Bookings Administrator.
- Where required, undertake additional cleaning, resetting of rooms or returning furniture and equipment to its usual layout following a hire.
- Complete relevant records and administrative tasks as directed.
- Report safeguarding, health and safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming and professional environment across all sites.
