Parts Advisor – Heavy Plant & Machinery
Family-Run Business in Aberfeldy, Perthshire
Salary: £26,500 – £35,000 DOE + overtime
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
We are a small, family-run heavy plant business based in Aberfeldy, serving customers across Perthshire and beyond.
Due to steady growth, we’re looking for a Parts Advisor to join our close-knit team and play a key role in keeping our customers machines working.
The Role :You’ll be the main point of contact for all parts enquiries, supporting both our engineers and our customers. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll quickly get to know our customers, and our way of working.
Key responsibilities: Identify and supply parts for heavy plant and construction equipment Handle phone, counter and email enquiries from trade and retail customers.
Support workshop engineers with the correct parts, oils and consumables Order, receive and check deliveries from suppliers Maintain stock levels, carry out stock checks and keep the stores tidy and organised. Process deliveries, returns and warranty claims accurately Keep records and stock information up to date on our computer system. Help with general depot tasks when required – we all muck in
About You: We’re looking for someone practical, reliable and customer-focused. Ideally you will have: Experience as a Parts Advisor / Parts Person (plant, agricultural, HGV or automotive) Some knowledge of mechanical / hydraulic / plant parts, or a genuine interest and willingness to learn
Good customer service skills – polite, clear and helpful on the phone and in person Confidence using computers and electronic parts catalogues
An organised, methodical approach with good attention to detail The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a small team
A background in heavy plant or construction equipment and a full UK driving licence would be an advantage, but are not essential for the right person.
