About Finmo
Finmo is a female-led, modern accountancy practice specialising in supporting sole traders, landlords and small business owners. We combine technology with a personal service to make tax straightforward for our clients.
We are ambitious, continually improving and committed to delivering an exceptional client experience. Every member of our team has played an important part in building Finmo into the business it is today. We work hard, challenge ourselves, celebrate each other's successes and are always looking for better ways of working.
Our team shares a growth mindset. We embrace change, are resilient when things don't go to plan and believe that feedback and continuous learning make us stronger.
We're looking for someone who wants to contribute to that journey, not simply complete a list of tasks.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing and filing Self Assessment tax returns from start to finish while providing excellent support to your portfolio of clients.
This is not a traditional practice role. At Finmo, Self Assessment season lasts all year. We prepare tax returns continuously rather than waiting for the January deadline, which means the pace remains consistently high throughout the year.
You'll spend as much time speaking to clients as you do preparing tax returns, so enjoying conversations and building relationships is just as important as your technical ability.
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, enjoys working at pace and takes pride in producing accurate work efficiently. You'll manage a high volume of client conversations and Self Assessment tax returns every day, balancing speed, quality and excellent client service.
You'll also have a commercial mindset, recognising opportunities where clients could benefit from additional services and referring these to the wider team.
Although this is an individual contributor role, nobody succeeds at Finmo alone. We take ownership of our own work, but we're always ready to help a colleague, share knowledge or step in when the team needs us. Our success comes from working together.
