Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves the installation and removal of formwork for concrete structures, ensuring precision and safety on-site. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, with additional skills in welding, masonry, and the use of hand and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful delivery of construction works. Applicants must be committed to safety standards and have the physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures according to project specifications
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate formwork setup
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
Perform welding tasks as required for reinforcement or formwork assembly
Assist with masonry tasks related to formwork support structures
Conduct regular inspections of formwork for stability, alignment, and safety compliance
Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, masonry, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless project progress
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or similar role within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and safety practices
Experience with welding, including the use of hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly
Familiarity with masonry work and roofing systems is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction equipment operation is desirable
Valid commercial driving licence is a plus but not essential
Prior experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects will be considered an asset

Pay: £230.00-£250.00 per day
