Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist to join our retail opticians team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an engaging environment where attention to detail and professionalism are highly valued. Previous office or administrative experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate with opticians to ensure efficient patient flow
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records
Process transactions accurately at the reception desk, including payments and other relevant documentation
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the reception area and waiting area
Assist with stock organisation and inventory management as required
Support the team with ad hoc administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

Previous office or administrative experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Friendly and professional manner with strong communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Proficient in basic computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel)
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and confidentially

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
