Job Title: Production Controller 3rd Shift
Location: On-Site, Rittal- CSM Ltd, Plymouth.
Salary: £31,000 - £34,000 dependant on qualifications and experience (plus shift premium of 33%)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 9:50pm to 6:00am
Hours: 37.9 hours per week

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Production Controller to join our Production Planning & Control team in Plymouth.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for finite scheduling across production work centres, ensuring plans are realistic, achievable, and delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. You will play a key role in balancing production demands, monitoring capacity, and supporting the efficient flow of materials and work throughout the manufacturing process.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will collaborate closely with production and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are met, resources are effectively utilised, and production performance targets are achieved. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and service delivery across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing experience who enjoys problem-solving, analysing data, and making a tangible impact on operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain finite production schedules across manufacturing work centres.
- Monitor capacity and identify potential production constraints.
- Produce and analyse production performance reports.
- Ensure materials and components are available for planned production activities.
- Monitor KPIs including lead times, availability, and customer delivery performance.
- Support compliance, traceability, and audit requirements.
- Develop and improve production processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and operational teams to ensure efficient workflow and delivery performance.
Qualifications & Experience

- Experience within a manufacturing, production, processing, or operational environment.
- An understanding of production planning and scheduling principles.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good Microsoft Office skills and confidence learning new systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications.
