Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, supporting senior chefs and contributing to the smooth operation of our kitchen. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about food, hospitality, and team management.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications
Support senior chefs in maintaining food safety standards and cleanliness within the kitchen
Contribute to food presentation, ensuring dishes meet quality standards before service
Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Maintain organisation and cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and support in food production tasks
Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring timely service and excellent customer experience

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and hygiene
Experience supervising or managing team members is desirable but not essential
Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or related fields is highly advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Primarily kitchen work, however more hours could be available if able to cover Front of House also.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
