Job Overview
BEESUK is a small farm‑based education provision supporting neurodivergent young people. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Site Technician to maintain and improve our outdoor learning site, animal areas, water systems, machinery and practical facilities.
This is a varied, meaningful role for someone with strong technical ability, good judgement and a proactive approach to site safety and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- General site maintenance, repairs and improvements
- Work on animal drinking systems, ponds, pumps and filtration
- Plumbing and electrical tasks within legal competence
- Carpentry, fencing, timber repairs and small construction tasks
- Machinery, vehicle and equipment checks, maintenance and repairs
- Grounds and garden maintenance
- Identifying hazards, reporting defects and keeping simple records
About You
- Qualified tradesperson, technician, engineer, mechanic or similar
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Confident with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, water, pump, filtration, carpentry or machinery systems
- Works safely, legally and within competence/authorisation
- Reliable, tidy, organised and risk‑aware
- Comfortable working around children, young people and animals
- Able to follow safeguarding, safety and welfare procedures
Desirable Qualifications (Not all required)
- Electrical or plumbing qualifications
- Mechanical/vehicle/plant experience
- Small engine -mower, tractor or grounds machinery skills
- Water systems/pumps/automation
- Carpentry/joinery
- LANTRA
- City & Guilds
- NPTC
- Chainsaw/strimmer/tractor/mower operation
- Manual handling
- Working at height
- First aid
- Health & safety training.
