Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality food items, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with catering operations. The ideal candidate will be organised, attentive to food safety standards. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality sector.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other catering items.
Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the square till system and provide correct change.
Assist with catering setup, delivery, and breakdown for events or functions.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar food service role is essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling purposes.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Experience in serving food and beverages efficiently in a high-volume environment is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are maintained at all times.
Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including weekends if required.
