People Development Assistant

Full time 37 hours per week

Temporary Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

£32,296.00

The Role

As a People Development Assistant, you will provide high-quality support to the People Development Team and colleagues across the organisation, ensuring seamless assistance with learning and development activities throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

Providing day-to-day support to the People Development Team, including related administration and coordination duties.
Supporting learning and development activities such as training requests, CPD requests, e-learning administration, travel and accommodation bookings, and culture and leadership initiatives.
Managing people development administration, including training bookings, invitations, attendance records, and updating training records.
Designing and delivering regular corporate induction sessions for new starters.
Assisting with the delivery of training programmes including soft skills, carbon literacy and topical training.
Undertaking accurate learning and development data analysis to support reporting and departmental KPIs.
Producing regular compliance reports for the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
Taking ownership of Learning Management System administration, including user management, course creation, reporting and system improvements.
Acting as the first point of contact for staff training queries.
Designing creative learning materials, including videos, slides, flyers and handouts.
Raising training and development purchase orders, processing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records.
Supporting the monitoring of departmental spend against budget.
Supporting the coordination of wellbeing events, long service awards and employee engagement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for a highly organised and adaptable individual with strong numeracy and literacy skills. You'll have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, is essential. You should be confident handling operational enquiries, building positive relationships and delivering excellent service.

A flexible and proactive approach is key, along with a professional and friendly manner. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and can balance competing priorities, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will:

Be working towards, or willing to work towards, CIPD Level 3.
Have experience within a Training, L&D, OD, Assistant, Coordinator or Administration role.
Experience of administering Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms would be advantageous.
Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Have knowledge or understanding of People Development, OD or L&D activities such as induction, skills training, e-learning, mandatory training, engagement surveys and team development.
Understand the importance of confidentiality and personal integrity.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
Be able to work effectively in a busy environment with competing demands.
Work on their own initiative while knowing when to seek guidance.
Take pride in their work with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
Be committed to teamwork.
Be committed to their own development and supporting the development of others.
