Full job description

Eyecare For You is looking for a reliable and compassionate Optical Fitter / Care Home Eyecare Assistant to join our growing team delivering domiciliary eyecare services within care and nursing homes across England. We need someone to cover the whole of the south coast - some days there may be little driving and some days there maybe a few hours.

This role involves visiting care homes to fit and adjust spectacles for residents, provide basic aftercare support, and ensure residents are comfortable and happy with their glasses.

Optical experience is preferred, however full training can be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

Visiting care and nursing homes to deliver, fit, and adjust spectacles
Assisting elderly residents, including those living with dementia
Carrying out minor repairs and adjustments where required
Ensuring residents are comfortable and satisfied with their glasses
Liaising professionally with care home staff
Representing Eyecare For You in a professional and friendly manner

Requirements

Optical experience preferred but not essential
Full training can be provided
Caring, patient, and professional attitude
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working independently
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential
Experience working within care homes or healthcare settings is beneficial
