Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, overseeing food preparation and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and managing daily kitchen operations to deliver an outstanding dining experience.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning, organising, and supervising daily kitchen operations
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the kitchen environment
Contribute to menu development by providing culinary input and innovative ideas
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Support the team during busy service periods, including serving when necessary
Uphold hospitality standards by delivering excellent customer service in all interactions

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on culinary excellence
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service standards
Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable but not essential for enthusiastic candidates eager to develop their career in culinary management

Pay: £14.00-£16.50 per hour
