About Insight Workplace Health

Insight Workplace Health was founded in 2009 with a clear focus on delivering high quality, practical occupational health services while maintaining a personal, client focused approach as the business has grown.

We are now one of the largest occupational health providers in Wales, supporting over 2,000 clients across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, housing, public sector and safety critical environments.

Our clinical services are led by our chief medical officer, ensuring strong clinical governance and a consistent, high quality approach across all services.

Role Overview

An excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, forward thinking Occupational Health provider delivering services across the UK.

Based from our Llandarcy clinic, the Occupational Health Technician will support the delivery of clinical services across client sites. This is a mobile role requiring regular travel, including overnight stays, and the operation of mobile medical units.

The role will involve working in a range of environments, including safety critical sites such as industrial settings, emergency services and operational workplaces, where high standards of professionalism, safety and compliance are essential.

Working under the supervision of a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Technician will deliver health surveillance, medical screening and safety critical assessments in line with clinical governance frameworks including SEQOHS and ISO 27001.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct health surveillance, often within mobile units, including:
Audiometry
Spirometry
Blood pressure monitoring
HAVS (Tier 2)
Vision screening
Undertake safety-critical medicals and assessments for operational roles
Support delivery of firefighter medicals, including functional fitness testing such as the Chester Step Test
Complete baseline health assessments
Carry out chain of custody Drug and Alcohol testing in line with protocols
Travel to client sites across the UK, including regular overnight stays
Drive and operate mobile medical units, ensuring safe setup and delivery of clinics
Maintain accurate clinical records using OPAS G2
Ensure all activity complies with GDPR, ISO27001 and internal clinical governance standards
Identify potential workplace health risks and escalate findings to the clinical or operations team
Work safely and professionally within safety-critical environments, adhering to site-specific requirements and procedures
Support continuous improvement, audit activity and adherence to SEQOHS standards
Undertake any other duties as required to support service delivery

Person Specification

Essential

Full UK driving licence and confident driving ability
Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays
Ability to work safely and effectively within safety-critical environments
Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently on client sites
Professional, reliable and able to work to high clinical standards
Good IT skills with ability to maintain accurate records

Desirable

Degree or qualification in Sports Science, Anatomy & Physiology, or related field
Experience in Occupational Health or a healthcare setting
Experience delivering health surveillance or fitness testing
Understanding of safety-critical or operational environments
