Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Nursery Cook to join our team. As a cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing high-quality meals to our children. If you have a passion for cooking, and have experience in food preparation, we would love to hear from you. Please note, this position also includes some housekeeping duties such as laundry and general cleaning in quiet times.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with meal planning and menu development
- Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace (including deep cleaning routine of the kitchen)
- Process the food shop on a weekly basis
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Carry out daily and deep cleaning of the nursery
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in meal preparation and cooking in a nursery/school/care home is essential
- Excellent past food hygiene ratings
- Previous experience catering for allergies and dietary requirements is preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices
- Culinary training or certification is a plus
- Food hygiene certificate is essential, but can be provided
Hours are 10am-3pm Monday to Friday.
