Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong food preparation and cooking skills, with experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing food production processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase culinary expertise within a dynamic hospitality environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes, overseeing kitchen operations, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Train new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
Ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining quality control
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent service experiences for guests
Maintain organised workstations and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in managing kitchen teams
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and presentation techniques
Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in menu development and culinary innovation is advantageous
Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service within a hospitality context
Previous experience working under pressure in fast-paced environments is preferred
