Job Title: Branch Manager

Branch: Edinburgh

Reporting to: The Managing Director

Salary Bracket: £40,000 pa - £50,000 pa depending on experience plus car allowance and bonus

Job Description:

Clockwork Removals and Storage is nationwide company providing a tailored removals and storage service to households and businesses across Scotland and England for over 25 years. We have an award-winning team who are ready to provide each and every customer with an exceptional service, working incredibly hard to keep all removal projects moving effectively and efficiently. This position would therefore suit someone who has either removals branch management experience or has a background within logistics or furniture supply/distribution who is keen on a career in the removals industry.

Job Purpose:

Overall responsibility for the Edinburgh branch's success/profitability by agreeing, implementing and achieving branch objectives and targets. Provide strong leadership to the branch team to deliver a world class removals service, ensuring that the company complies with its legal responsibilities relating to operating standards. This will include Health and Safety, transport legislation and maintenance records.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Monitor branch performance including KPIs and ensure accurate reporting of figures and monthly profit and loss.

· Responsible for Branch Profit and Loss including gross profit / cost control / net profit.

· Maintain competitive awareness and conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for business development and generate leads.

· Negotiate quality business deals and write proposals, tenders and supplier agreements, negotiate rates and fees, close deals.

· Write client reports and other ad-hoc reports.

· Write and place ads, monitor and control advertising content and spend and develop advertising and marketing plans.

· Client visits and networking with clients and branches – develop client relations and identify client needs / satisfaction.

· Quarterly and Annual analysis of client spend and Review of margin base in line with company and individual target.

· Develop effective business and corresponding action plans, set quarterly aims, targets and objectives.

· Monthly forecasting.

· Securing new business, residential, commercial and international, including prospecting for new business/contacts.

· Ensure legal compliance on all matters pertaining to VOSA, including Maintenance, Drivers Hours, Defect Reporting and Records Maintenance.

· Comply with all relevant H&S legislation to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and customers.

· Ensure that all Company Premises are maintained and kept secure to protect effects belonging to the Company and our customers.

· Manage operating costs and ensure that your resource is used as efficiently as possible.

· Identify and discuss any training requirements with staff

· Committed to continuous professional development and effective Performance Management.

· Set quarterly and annual targets and objectives.

· Monitor and review staff performance and achievement on a regular basis

· To manage sales staff setting KPI’s to achieve maximum output.

· Hold regular meetings; discuss task delegation, review issues, monitor sick leave and attendance, reprimand and praise staff.

· Branch communication – encourage respect and open communication

· Interview and recruit branch staff, induction of new recruits, staff training (ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation), coaching and support and objective setting.

· Perform auditing and quality checking.

· Ensure the day-to-day credit control is managed effectively.

· Resource Branch effectively including leave and succession planning recruitment and selection, in line with Branch requirements.

· Implement policies and procedures as directed by the Board of Directors.

· Contribute to strategic projects and / or regional or group initiatives.

· Promote cross selling including added value services

· Any other duties as required.

· National and international CPC holder (desirable, but not essential)

· Domestic Moving - desirable but not essential since training will be given

· Commercial Moving - desirable but not essential since training will be given

· Transport and health & Safety Legislation, Fleet and Maintenance Records - desirable but not essential since training will be given
