Full job description

Domestic Abuse is a trauma informed organisation, the work we do to support those affected by domestic abuse may be triggering for those with past trauma. Please only apply if you are living free from abuse. If you’d like to talk to us about this, please get in touch.

Main purpose and scope of the job

This project will provide significant additional support for victims to remain safely in their home and is designed to make the home environment safer for both the victims and their children.

This role will provide support and interventions to those affected by domestic abuse to empower and support and break the cycle of domestic abuse throughout their journey with Stop Domestic Abuse, regardless of risk.

This may include: women with male children over the age of 16, male victims-survivors, including men with children, LGBTQ+ victims-survivors, older adults, victims-survivors with disabilities, victims-survivors facing complex support needs.

Completing target hardening assessments for community based clients, issuing basic safety devises (when available), liaising with landlords/housing to secure installation of larger security measures, advising clients of safety measures and making referrals to external agencies to complete larger security improvements as required.

Promoting, facilitating and encouraging, individual empowerment, working to actively reduce isolation.
