Sample Processing Administrator

Join our team as a Sample Processing Administrator and play a key role in ensuring samples are accurately received, processed and tracked from arrival through to laboratory analysis or storage. This is a detail-focused role where organisation, accuracy and teamwork are essential to delivering an excellent service to our clients.

Role

Location: Prescot
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00)
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
Hours: 37.5
Annual Salary: £25,850
Closing Date: Thursday 9th July 2026

The Day to Day

Receive, unpack and process incoming samples, ensuring all details are checked and accurately recorded.
Register samples and create jobs within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Verify client instructions, sample information and documentation to maintain full traceability.
Prepare sample labels and route samples to the correct laboratory, preparation or storage area.
Identify and escalate discrepancies such as damaged samples, missing information or incorrect documentation.
Maintain accurate records, storage information and supporting documentation.
Work closely with laboratory, inspection and administration teams to ensure the smooth flow of samples.
Follow company quality procedures, health and safety standards and manual handling guidelines at all times.

The Essentials

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
Able to follow procedures accurately and manage multiple priorities.
Confident using IT systems, with the ability to learn LIMS and other business software.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Good literacy, numeracy and administrative skills.
Understanding of the importance of quality, compliance and accurate record keeping.
Previous experience in sample processing, laboratory administration or a similar operational environment is desirable.
Experience with LIMS or laboratory systems would be advantageous.
