Full job description

The role of a Participation Worker is to develop and deliver Participation activities, projects and capacity building enabling children and young people to actively participation in the design, delivery and development of children and young people's services in Cheshire East.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 9th September

In This Job You Will

Develop and promote models of consultation and participation enabling targeted and vulnerable children and young people to influence decision-making processes that affect their lives.

Support the facilitation and development of current participation groups in Cheshire East such as SEND Youth Council, Cheshire East Youth Council, Children in Care Council and Care Leavers groups, identified targeted groups, and UKYP.

Support children and young people to develop skills, knowledge and self-confidence to participate in decision-making.

Support and train professionals to build their capacity to deliver and embed participation and consultation processes into their work with children and young people.

Contribute to the administration and planning of the project by designing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating all work delivered.

Support and monitor a group of young people in the delivery of commissioned work.

Share information obtained via a range of approaches, through consultation and participation activities, with relevant professionals and agencies and thereby promote effective service provision.

Work in partnership with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies and members to ensure the project’s development locally and beyond.

Contribute to the Cheshire East Participation Network.

Facilitate and support young people’s involvement in commissioning processes and young people’s recruitment and selection panels.

Train, develop and support young people in a programme of monitoring and evaluating services which will report to the Children’s Trust, LCSB and other relevant Council arenas.
