Summary
The Governors of The Roebuck School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, approachable and pro-active School Business Officer to join our friendly team in our busy school office. The role requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a key ability to self-manage workload. The appointed candidate will work closely with the Bursar but will be required to complete tasks independently (once confident). Responsibility will also be taken for general record keeping, attendance records/registers, training records, school census, childcare eligibility codes, preparing new admissions, and liaising with staff, parents and visitors.
Knowledge and experience of school administration, particularly using SIMs is desirable but not essential. General administrative jobs may also be required (e.g. photocopying, scanning etc.).
The Business Officer will be the main interface between school, visitors, parents/carers and the public and will have responsibility for overseeing visitors and contractors, answering phone calls, emails and immediate matters, as well as opening the door to let children and their parents in during session times. The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The appointed candidate will work closely with the team to ensure effective communication with parents ensuring timely updates, newsletters and other important information is passed on.

This position requires the candidate to work 37 hours across 5 days per week, and again ideally, starting at 8.15am most days. Flexibility for days and times will be considered for the appropriate candidate. On occasion, it may be necessary to work some minimal overtime (agreed in advance) during busy periods or to attend training.
This position is term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
