Full job description

THE ROLE

The Junior Project Manager role sits between a Project Coordinator and a Project Manager, offering the opportunity to take on greater ownership while still remaining closely involved in the practical day-to-day detail that keeps projects moving. This person will support the planning, coordination, administration and delivery of client projects, ensuring tasks are tracked, stakeholders are updated, engineers are organised and deadlines are kept on course. They should be comfortable handling routine but important project activity, while also developing the confidence to oversee larger pieces of work with increasing independence.

This is an ideal step-up role for someone who has experience as a Project Coordinator and is ready to move into a more senior project-focused position. The Junior Project Manager will be involved in a wide range of MSP projects, including Microsoft 365 migrations, server installations, and the setup of third-party services such as backup, MDR and other client-facing technology solutions. The role requires strong organisation, clear communication, attention to detail and the ability to balance hands-on coordination with growing responsibility for project outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate day-to-day project tasks and updates.

- Maintain project plans, actions and timelines.

- Support engineers with scheduling and preparation.

- Keep clients informed on project progress.

- Manage Microsoft 365 migration, server and infrastructure projects

- Arrange project kick-off meetings.

- Capture project requirements and scope.

- Prepare project documentation and handover notes.

- Take ownership of smaller projects independently.

- Monitor project budgets and time allocation.

- Update project records in internal systems.

- Support project communication between teams.

- Ensure handovers are completed properly.

- Identify improvements to project processes.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED

- Experience in a project coordination role.

- Strong organisation and time management.

- Confident managing multiple tasks at once.

- Good written and verbal communication.

- Comfortable speaking with clients.

- Able to follow processes and procedures.

- Attention to detail in project updates.

- Basic understanding of IT services.

- Awareness of Microsoft 365 environments.

- Ability to prioritise workload effectively.

- Confident chasing actions and deadlines.

- Able to work with technical teams.

- Calm and organised under pressure.

- Willing to take ownership of outcomes.

- Good problem-solving approach.

- Professional and reliable attitude.

- Comfortable learning new systems.

- Interest in developing project skills.

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
