SEN Teacher – Alternative Provision (KS3 & KS4)

Full-Time | Permanent | Competitive Salary + SEN Allowance

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our alternative provision team, supporting students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where relationships, individualised learning and personal development are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will lead a small class of students using a primary-style teaching model, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum across core and foundation subjects. You will create a safe, structured and inspiring learning environment that enables pupils to re-engage with education, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

Our students may also have additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), learning difficulties and other SEND requirements. You will work collaboratively with support staff, families and external agencies to ensure every student receives the personalised support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons across core subjects and a range of topic-based curriculum areas.
Teach and support students working towards Maths and English qualifications.
Use assessment effectively to monitor academic, social and emotional progress.
Develop bespoke learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
Promote positive behaviour through consistent and trauma-informed approaches.
Work closely with Teaching Assistants, HLTAs and external professionals.
Contribute to EHCP reviews and support students' wider personal development.
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.
Champion inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding across the provision.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

Experience working with children and young people with SEND.
Experience delivering Maths and English qualifications.
Strong understanding of adaptive teaching and differentiation.
Excellent behaviour management skills.
Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
Experience working within alternative provision, SEMH or specialist settings.

Desirable:

Knowledge and experience of the Boxall Profile.
Understanding of PACE-informed practice.
Full UK driving licence.
Maths and English Background
