Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of vehicle safety standards and be capable of conducting thorough MOT inspections in accordance with industry regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about vehicle maintenance and safety to contribute to our reputable organisation.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards
Inspect vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, exhaust systems, and steering mechanisms
Identify and diagnose faults or issues requiring repair or further investigation
Complete detailed inspection reports and documentation accurately and efficiently
Advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance work following inspections
Maintain a clean, organised workspace adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment as required

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with a strong understanding of vehicle systems and components
Experience using hand tools and power tools effectively and safely
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
Relevant MOT testing qualification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency)
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Good communication skills to explain findings clearly to customers
Valid driving licence with a clean driving record

Pay: £26,189.61-£40,000.00 per year
