Full job description

At Precon Products, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to builders' merchants, contractors and construction professionals throughout the UK.

We're looking for an organised, customer-focused and proactive Sales Administrator to join our friendly team at our Kent Depot. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, providing outstanding customer service and becoming an integral part of a busy sales operation.

This is far more than a traditional administration role. You'll become a trusted point of contact for our merchant customers, supporting enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders and helping to develop long-term customer relationships.

Whether you already have experience within the construction industry or are looking to develop your knowledge, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Working alongside our experienced Internal Sales Manager and wider sales team, you'll play an important role in supporting both customers and colleagues by:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders' merchants and key customer accounts.
Preparing accurate quotations and processing customer orders efficiently.
Responding promptly and professionally to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
Providing outstanding customer service throughout every stage of the sales process.
Supporting the development of existing customer accounts and identifying opportunities for growth.
Liaising with colleagues across Sales, Operations and Purchasing to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
Maintaining accurate customer information and sales records.
Assisting with sales reporting and general administrative duties.
Developing your product knowledge through supplier training, merchant visits and practical experience.
Supporting the wider Kent Depot team whenever required.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and thrives in a busy environment.

You'll ideally have:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
A proactive and positive approach to work.
Confidence speaking with customers over the telephone and by email.
Previous experience within a customer service, sales support or administration role would be advantageous.

Experience within the construction industry or builders' merchant sector would be beneficial but is not essential, as full product training will be provided.
