About Tutor Doctor Bolton West

Tutor Doctor Bolton West provides personalised one-to-one tutoring for children and young people. We support students with confidence, subject understanding, homework, school transition, exam preparation and general academic progress.

We are currently looking to build a small network of reliable, personable and high-quality tutors to support local students, particularly at KS2 and KS3 level.

This role may suit current teachers, retired teachers, teaching assistants, student teachers, graduates, university students or experienced tutors who enjoy working one-to-one with young people.

About the role

You will provide one-to-one tutoring to students in their home, online, or occasionally in another suitable agreed location.

We are particularly interested in tutors who can support one or more of the following areas:

KS2 Maths
KS2 English
KS3 Maths
KS3 English
KS3 Science
General homework support
Confidence building
Study skills
Year 6 to Year 7 transition support

You do not need to cover every subject, but you should be confident in the area you apply to tutor.

What you’ll be doing

Providing personalised one-to-one tutoring sessions
Supporting students with subject knowledge, confidence and learning habits
Adapting your approach to suit each student’s needs
Communicating professionally and reliably
Preparing for sessions appropriately
Providing brief feedback on student progress where required
Representing Tutor Doctor in a professional and friendly way

What we’re looking for

We are looking for tutors who are:

Confident supporting KS2 and/or KS3 students
Strong in at least one core subject area
Reliable, punctual and professional
Good communicators
Patient, encouraging and positive with young people
Able to build confidence as well as subject knowledge
Willing to travel locally for in-person tutoring
Open to online tutoring where suitable
Able to commit to consistent weekly sessions where possible

Experience that may be suitable

Travel

Tutors should be willing to travel locally across Bolton West, Westhoughton, Hindley, Atherton, Wigan and nearby areas for in-person sessions. Online tutoring may also be available, but applicants should be prepared to provide face-to-face support where required.
