About the role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Traffic Marshal Supervisor to lead safe and efficient traffic operations across a busy construction site in London SW1E 5NN . You will supervise a team of Traffic Marshals, ensure compliance with the Site Traffic Management Plan, and work closely with the Main Contractor and logistics teams to keep vehicles, plant and pedestrians moving safely every day.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate Traffic Marshals deployed across all site gates, delivery areas and operational zones
- Ensure full compliance with the Site Traffic Management Plan and any temporary traffic control measures issued by the Main Contractor
- Monitor traffic conditions continuously and implement corrective measures as required
- Oversee the safe deployment and condition of all traffic control devices — signage, barriers and signals
- Coordinate vehicle arrivals and departures with the site logistics team and delivery booking systems
- Ensure safe pedestrian, vehicle and plant segregation at all times across the site
- Oversee traffic control during reversing, loading/unloading and restricted manoeuvres
- Assist with planning abnormal deliveries, crane operations, road closures and other activities affecting site traffic
- Conduct daily briefings with Traffic Marshals covering site rules, traffic routes and safety procedures
- Monitor marshal attendance and maintain adequate coverage throughout the working day
- Report all incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and breaches of traffic rules to the Main Contractor immediately
- Maintain accurate records of traffic incidents, inspections and operational activities
Skills & experience
- Proven supervisory experience in traffic marshalling or traffic management on construction sites
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members, site management and external agencies
- Good knowledge of traffic infrastructure maintenance and upkeep of traffic control equipment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, respond swiftly to incidents and make sound decisions
- Solid understanding of relevant health, safety and traffic management regulations
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols

Pay: From £19.00 per hour
