We have two highly regarded brands; SiS which combines world-class science and innovation to provide optimal performance nutritional solutions for professional athletes, sports and fitness enthusiasts and the active lifestyle community. This includes over 320 professional teams worldwide across a broad range of sports including Football, Rugby, Cycling, Athletics, Basketball, Netball and Swimming. Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, an eleven-time world champion and six-time Olympic champion, and Eilish McColgan, who won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres.
PhD Nutrition is a premium, active-nutrition brand for the active lifestyle community wanting intelligent nutrition to help them achieve their goals. With over 20 years of research and development, our products are designed to maximise performance in and out of the gym. It’s an exciting time for PhD Nutrition as 2025 will kick off an entirely new line up of brand ambassadors, from hybrid athletes to qualified sports nutritionists.
The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time and most importantly, allowing Science In Sport to lead the way for quality standards.
Science In Sport is the nutrition partner to globally recognised elite teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens Rugby, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, British Cycling, England Netball and Loughborough Sports. As well as being the Official Energy Gel Provider of RunThrough and the Official Nutrition Partner of Ultra X.
The Role
This role will be a key part of our global operations strategy to deliver a world-class experience for every customer and partner. As part of the wider Customer Experience and Operations team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end movement of goods across our global network, ensuring products are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and on time across all territories including UK, EU, US, and emerging international markets.
This is a fast-paced role requiring strong organisational capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously. Success in this role depends on proactively identifying operational risks, resolving logistical challenges quickly, and continuously improving global supply chain performance to support business growth.
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Working Hours: 9am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday

The work - Your 4 most important responsibilities
Global Logistics & Distribution Management - You will lead the coordination and performance of our global logistics operation, ensuring products move efficiently across multiple regions, warehouses, and delivery partners. This includes overseeing inbound freight, customs processes, warehousing activity, and final-mile delivery performance to support both customer expectations and commercial objectives.
Operational Performance & Carrier Management - You will be responsible for driving operational excellence across logistics partners, warehouses, and distribution networks. This includes monitoring service levels, managing carrier relationships, reviewing performance metrics, and implementing improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and customer experience.
Escalation & Issue Resolution - You will take ownership of operational escalations, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and with minimal customer or commercial impact. Whether managing customs delays, inventory constraints, delivery disruptions, or urgent customer requirements, you will provide clear leadership and effective solutions in a fast-moving environment.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects - You will continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, visibility, scalability, and cost-to-serve across the global logistics network. This includes supporting strategic projects, implementing new processes and systems, and helping build future-ready operations capable of supporting international growth.
Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering
OTIF Accountability - You will be accountable for maintaining strong OTIF (On Time In Full) performance across all channels and territories, ensuring operational reliability and a consistently high level of customer service globally.
Freight & Logistics Cost Management - You will manage freight and operational costs while balancing service performance and customer expectations. Through effective planning, carrier management, and operational optimisation, you will support commercially sustainable growth.
Global Compliance & Customs Responsibility - You will ensure all international shipping and customs activities remain compliant with regional regulations and operational requirements. This includes maintaining accurate documentation, reducing delays, and minimising operational risk across all markets.
Inventory Flow & Operational Visibility - You will oversee the efficient movement and visibility of stock throughout the supply chain, ensuring clear communication across warehouses, freight providers, and internal stakeholders. Your focus will be on reducing disruption and improving operational decision-making through accurate reporting and visibility

Inventory & Stock Flow Accuracy - Effective inventory management and stock flow accuracy will be key indicators of operational control, ensuring products move efficiently throughout the supply chain while minimising disruption and delay.
Carrier & Partner Performance - The performance of logistics partners and carriers will reflect your ability to build strong operational relationships, maintain accountability, and drive continuous service improvements across the network.
