Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication and assembly, with a focus on precision and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in mechanical work and hands-on skills to contribute to high-quality projects within a dynamic environment.

4 day working week

Overtime @ 1.5 x phr

Duties

Fabricate, cut, and shape sheet metal components according to technical drawings and specifications
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling for precise fabrication and assembly
Perform grinding, welding, and finishing tasks to ensure smooth surfaces and secure joints
Assist in the assembly of sheet metal parts into larger structures or systems
Conduct basic measurements and calculations using standard mathematical principles to ensure accuracy
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workspace throughout production processes
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues and optimise workflow efficiency

Skills

Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes
Proficiency with grinding, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools
Strong mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal components and systems
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
Competence in using tooling equipment safely and effectively
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control checks
Familiarity with basic assembly techniques and the use of hand tools for precise fitting

This position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional manufacturing environment. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, safety consciousness, and a proactive approach to their work.

Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
