Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality care and educational activities for young children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and committed to promoting their development through engaging learning experiences.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Support the lead teacher in supervising children during playtime, meals, and rest periods.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health and safety policies at all times.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence.
Maintain a clean, organised classroom environment conducive to learning and play.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour.
Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies.
Assist with daily administrative tasks such as record keeping and preparing learning materials.

Requirements

Government approved Level 3 Qualification in Early Years.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare practices.
Strong management and leadership skills to support classroom activities effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership qualities when needed.
Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their developmental needs.
Organised, patient, adaptable, and able to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Pay: From £13.07 per hour
