Job Summary
We are an established fabrication company based on a busy chemical plant, providing ongoing maintenance and project support to our client. We are seeking a confident and experienced General Foreman to supervise daily operations and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate a multi‑trade workforce of approximately 10 personnel, including fabricators, welders, and painters.
- Carry out site visits to scope future works, prepare job requirements, and monitor progress on ongoing tasks.
- Plan daily workloads, allocate labour, and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Use the client’s maintenance management software to review, update, and manage work requests (training provided).
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures, site rules, and safe systems of work.
- Liaise with client representatives to understand requirements and maintain strong working relationships.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including job scopes, reports, and work records.
Skills & Experience
- Previous supervisory experience in a fabrication, industrial, or chemical plant environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and site safety practices.
- Ability to undertake site inspections, identify work requirements, and plan tasks effectively.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good communication, organisational, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work to deadlines.
