Aconda designs and manufactures specialist industrial carriers, sold worldwide through a network of distributors. Following our move into a new, purpose-built facility, we’ve significantly increased capacity and are seeing strong international demand.

We are also proud recipients of the King’s Award for Innovation, reflecting the strength of our product and engineering capability.

We are looking for a Workshop Fabrication Assistant, which will involve the following duties:

Band saw operation: Operating a semi-automatic band saw cutting lengths of steel tube.
Deburring tube: Removing sharp edges using a rotary deburring machine.
Drilling and tapping: Some items require drilling, countersinking and tapping.
Folding: Assisting with or operating our Amada press brake to fold sheet materials to specification.
Unpacking pallets: When steel orders come in on pallets, it is necessary to check them against the delivery paperwork and unpack ready for processing.
Deburring flat materials: Flat plate is deburred using our automated deburring machine.
Organising the work area: Keeping on top of parts being put in the correct areas, tidying, and ensuring rubbish is disposed of.

Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with experience in a workshop environment, capable of setting up machines and working to fine tolerances (less than 1mm). Attention to detail is essential to ensure consistent quality and output. Specific machinery/equipment training will be provided.

Hours of work are typically 07:30 - 16:15 on site in Witham. Holiday entitlement increases with length of employment, up to 33 days.
