The Role
Your primary responsibility is to provide high-quality IT support to Preservica's internal users (130+ staff), ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operation of our internal systems. This includes supporting a predominantly cloud-based environment, alongside a small on-premise footprint.
You will take ownership of helpdesk operations, ensuring tickets are triaged, prioritised, and resolved in line with agreed service levels, while maintaining clear communication with end users and a strong focus on customer experience.
In addition, you will maintain our Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, manage end-user devices and endpoint security, and oversee core network services such as file sharing, firewalls, and Wi-Fi. The role also includes onboarding and offboarding users and contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Information Security Management System (ISMS), including associated records and procedures.
As the role develops, you will take on project-based work involving research, planning, and implementation of improvements to our internal systems and services. You will also be responsible for monitoring and enhancing existing automations to improve efficiency, reliability, and security across the IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality technical support to end users, maintaining strong communication with focus on customer experience
- Proactively identify recurring issues and implement improvements to reduce ticket volumes and improve service quality
- Experience of managing, investigating and resolving vulnerabilities
- Manage end-user devices, ensuring compliance with security baselines
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
- Contribute to compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and Cyber Essentials
- Monitor and enhance existing automation to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability
Knowledge & Experience:
We do not require you to have experience in all the areas listed below but you should have strong working knowledge and experience in some and be keen to learn others.
- Previous experience of working as part of an IT helpdesk supporting users and managing Windows 11 and Mac devices.
- Maintaining Microsoft 365 environment including Azure Entra, Exchange, SharePoint and Teams.
- Managing end user devices with MDM platforms such as Intune.
- Day-to-day administration of internal infrastructure including Wi-Fi, VPN and endpoint security.
- Process automation with scripting using languages like PowerShell and Power Automate.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and certifications such as BSI 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
