Job description

We require a Production Operative located in Reading for immediate start to work a manual handling shift as part of a small team processing, filling, packaging, labelling and pallet wrapping industrial chemical orders.

Full training will be provided, although preferred manual handling experience an advantage. Forklift licence an advantage but not essential.

Monday to Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00
Friday: 08.30 – 16:00 (no unpaid lunch break)

(37.5 working hours) – 20 min paid break. Overtime available including Saturdays.

*Flexibility to future shifts

Basis: Permanent

Day to Day duties will include the following:

Working in a fast-paced goods factory
Filling and handling of sensitive products
Assembly work
Packaging and repackaging of products
Labelling
Order picking
Despatch orders
Machine operation
Quality checking products
Rotating stock
Wrapping Orders
Regular stock counts to ensure stock levels are always correct
Working alone and in a team to ensure daily workload is shared
Working to Health & Safety strict guidelines - High Viz and Safety Shoes to be always worn and is provided.
Manual handling/ moving of items from different areas of site.
Outside working in the yard - sorting and breaking up of waste into relevant bins.
General duties

As an individual person, it is essential that you need the following qualities and experience:

Attention to detail - does not mind getting your hands dirty

Positive attitude
Able to work on own initiative
Numerate & Literate
Physically fit as fast paced manufacturer – products up to 25kg
Must be flexible in approach to working hours if requested, and weekend overtime is required at busy times
