Preschool Manager – Woodley Preschool

Location: Woodley Preschool, Woodford Park

Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Term Time Only (30 hours)

Woodley Preschool is a warm, welcoming, and nurturing early years setting dedicated to providing high‑quality education and care. Our focus is on creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can thrive, learn, and grow.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and proactive Preschool Manager to lead our setting with confidence, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. You will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the preschool, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

As Preschool Manager, you will provide strong leadership, inspire your team, and ensure that every child receives exceptional early years experiences. You will be responsible for operational management, curriculum oversight, staff development, and maintaining positive relationships with families and the wider community.

To Thrive in This Role, You’ll Need

Proven experience leading, supporting, and motivating a team within an early years or childcare setting
Confidence in ensuring full compliance with regulatory, safeguarding, and early years standards
Strong working knowledge of the EYFS and the ability to oversee high‑quality curriculum planning
Experience managing staff performance, including recruitment, training, and ongoing development
High levels of organisation, accuracy, and administrative capability
Financial and operational awareness, including budget and resource management
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
A proactive, hands‑on approach and confidence in leading by example
Commitment to delivering outstanding childcare and early education outcomes

This Role Is Likely to Suit Someone Who Has

A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (although Level 4/5 is preferred)
Experience in a leadership or management role within an early years setting
Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and compliance requirements
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
A track record of successfully leading teams and improving practice
Experience working closely with families and external professionals to support child development
Passionate about creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
