About Us:

Tokyoesque is a market research and consulting firm based in the UK and the Netherlands specialising in market entry between Japan and Europe.

Job Description

Tokyoesque seeks a detail-orientated Japanese-speaking researcher based in Europe or Japan to assist our research and market expansion services for our clients.

The ideal candidate will be a native-level Japanese speaker with a strong understanding of Japan, UK and European markets. This role involves conducting comprehensive research, analysing data, and providing actionable insights to support our clients’ business objectives.

Although most work is research-focussed, we also regularly conduct projects that involve connecting with partners such as distributors and sales prospects for our clients. We also occassionally require translation work.

We will tailor the work to your specific skill set and are seeking to build a roster of trustworthy researchers / translators to work with as Tokyoesque grows.

This role is ideal for someone seeking part-time work, such as students pursuing their postgraduate / Masters degrees.

Projects will be offered on an as-available basis.

We will contact you over the next few weeks to set up interviews and check availability for upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct market research and analysis on various industries in Japan and Europe.
Gather, interpret, and analyse data from multiple sources.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on research findings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client projects.
Monitor industry trends and developments to provide up-to-date insights.
Present research findings to clients in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

Native-level Japanese speaker with fluency in English. Other languages are a plus.
Proven experience in market research or a related role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of Japanese and UK market dynamics.
